Internship Responsibilities

-Serving San Mateo County Parks systems in a volunteer capacity
-Duties includes litter pick-up, facility/trail maintenance, repairs, landscaping, etc. (Marina District has duties pertaining to harbor issues)
-Familiarize with the parks and its function under the tutelage of a ranger

-Interning/volunteering at San Mateo County Parks requires substantial long termtime commitment. In order to start, one must contact the community program specialist, Carla Schoof. She will assign you to a park district where you will be trained by a ranger.

-There are many awarding benefits interning at San Mateo County including working with the outdoors and meeting members of the community.

-After interning at San Mateo County Parks, you can gain more knowledge on the outdoors. You will gain a sense of self-confidence and achievement, public speaking skills, and gaining new friends and connections. If you intern at Coyote Point Marina, learning outcomes include successfully sailing a motorboat.
